Heron House B & B is the perfect place to stay for business or pleasure, the house is in the centre of the ancient village of Bampton, on the border of Devon and Somerset and is surrounded by rolling hills that are the foothills of Exmoor National Park. The area is, quite simply, stunning and has many attractions and a full range of outdoor activities.

BAMPTON is conveniently placed for access to the M5 Motorway,  Junction 27, which is just 17 minutes from the house. Bampton is home to three pubs, The Swan Inn and The Quarrymana's Rest , both serve excellent food and beer and are a short walk from the house. Bampton also has a Cafe offering treats from Cakes to Cappuccinos, a traditional Fish & Chip Shop, Craft Shop, Bistro, Gift Shop, Antiques, Florist, Artisan Bakery and Coffee Shop, Hairdressers, Beauty Treatment Studio and two really friendly and well stocked Convenience Stores. Visitors are able to walk from Heron House B & B to explore on foot all this lovely village has to offer. Cycle Route 3 goes past our front door and we can provide storage for your bike. For those guests who just want to relax after a long drive, Fiona offers a two course dish of the day supper (must be pre-booked before arrival) at Heron House using fresh local produce. A Main Course and Pudding, Tea or Coffee and chocolates for £30.00 per person, served around 7.45 pm in the family dining room all together. DULVERTON is another lovely little town and is just 5.8 miles / 17 minutes from Heron House B & B and has a unique mix of independent and boutique style shops, not to mention two of my favourite restaurants.  Woods Bar and Restaurant in Bank Square www.woodsdulverton.co.uk and Tongdam, the best Thai restaurant I have ever come across outside the big cities www.tongdamthai.co.uk and it is in the sweetest little building.  When the weather allows you can eat outside under the vines.  Whats not to like!   Then, for a celebration perhaps or special treat, just 10 miles from Heron House B & B is the Masons Arms at Knowstone www.masonsarmsdevon.co.uk A thatched village boozer but with the added bonus of a one star Michelin restaurant, not at all stuffy and very good value.  If you are concerned about driving, a Bampton taxi (ccofbampton@aol.com ) 07773600125 booked in advance will take you there and delivery you safely back to Heron House B & B.   Enjoy!
